Meet Marci and her brothers Scott and Troy, Britney and the pups, Duff and Maggie!

When I first talked to Marci about her portrait session, she had asked if her brothers, her dogs and her brother's girlfriend could come along. Of course, I said, absolutely! The more the merrier! I had never met Marci's family before, but I knew that after the first ten minutes of our time together, we would have a great time and we would create all sorts of great memories as a family. I believe that when life hands you a detour, you have to take the road with the brighter light, and that is what Marci has done. I love her for that, and for the passion and love she shares with her brothers Scott and Troy along with the friendship she has with Britney.

*Marci, Scott, Troy and Britney, thank you for giving me the opportunity to capture special memories of you guys as a family! I had a great time getting to know you all even better and I know that God has some amazing things planned for each of you. Blessings to each of you, Tira J.

Marci and her loves!

Scott and Britney have been dating for a while, so I wanted to take a few special images of them together. I just love how they are backlit by the sun.

Thanks for laughing at me, because I love this image of you guys!

Marci and Troy.

Mr. Duff, who really doesn't like big dogs!

Sweet Maggie with Marci

The family!

Oh, and did I fail to mention that this is not really Reese Witherspoon? She could easily pass as the brunet version! Marci, you are gorgeous!!!!

The weather was amazing and her little pups Duff and Maggie were so well behaved.......until a big dog came along! Duff didn't like that very much.

More to come soon!

She was shy, soft spoken and full of life and love.

Meet Lisa!

Nothing excites me more than to see the students I met when they were brand new freshmen on our campus, finally reach the milestone of graduating from college. I have loved watching Lisa and so many others literally mature into awesome adults who are going to go out into this huge world of ours to make a difference with their college degrees. Lisa brought her roommate of three years to the session for love and support. Amy was a true delight and I can't wait to see her reach her goals and dreams in December. We had a total blast throughout Lisa's session!

*Lisa, you know that I love ya and I am so proud of you to see how far you have come in the four years you have been at APU. I know that God is going to do some awesome things in your life after you graduate. Much love and blessings to you, Tira J.

Ahem! My most favorite author, Nicholas Sparks! When she pulled this book out of her bag, I was so excited!!

Lisa is a Business/Marketing major, so we thought about "kickin" it in one of the classrooms.

Um right! You aren't photogenic at all! Silly Lisa! You are stunning!

Yes, this is what every single college graduate must feel as they are nearing graduation. Preparing for the next phase of your life can be pretty scary.

Love this one!

Lisa with her awesome roommate Amy! Thanks Amy for making the afternoon so much fun....soaked jeans and all!

Isn't she gorgeous! A special thank you to our friend Michelle Cross for doing Lisa's makeup. If you would like Michelle's contact information, feel free to send me an email.

Have you noticed a trend in some of the images? The iPhone! What college student doesn't have their iPhone with them at all times?

Lunchtime splurges = the perfect chair http://tirajphotography.com/?postID=293&Lunchtime-splurges-the-perfect-chair http://tirajphotography.com/?postID=293&Lunchtime-splurges-the-perfect-chair Wed, 03 Mar 2010 08:53:00 GMT
Last month, I ventured out to Calico Corners in Pasadena to check out their fabrics. I fell in love with a few of the custom fabrics, and then asked how much it would cost to have an old chair covered, or buy a new chair with custom fabric. My heart sank when I heard the prices and I thought the journey of finding the perfect chair would never be over and my visions and dreams for styling some shoots for my clients were gone.

Look no further!!!!!

Yesterday, my sweet co-worker/friend Heather and I ventured out to Home Goods and then In N Out (which was yummy by the way). We walked into Home Goods, went straight over to the furniture section and there it was! The perfect chair. I wanted to scream with delight, but Heather wouldn't let me. I was so hyper by that point, we snatched up that chair, paid for it and threw it in my van so nobody else would take it.

I have some big plans for this little prize and can't wait to share them with you. And don't worry boys, I am now on the hunt for the perfect blue chair!

ps.. Sorry there isn't a Whip It Up Wednesday today. Life has been keeping us very busy and we haven't been home to do a lot of cooking. We are entertaining the idea of trying out your own recipes and then sharing them on our blog. So, if you have a recipe you would like for us to try and then possibly have it featured, send it to info [at] tirajphotography.com.

Here is the last installment of the silly afternoon I had with the Shahbaz Family! I went over there for a special project for this summer and it was specifically to get some new images of Mr. Jordan, but how could I resist the rest of this awesome family? Phil has a way with the kiddos and makes them go completely crazy as you can see from the image above and below.

My favorite image of Cedar.

The family!

Jonah is a true crack up and thank goodness, he laughs at all of my silly faces and jokes!

My second favorite image of Miss Cedar with her dolly!

Yes, it is true, if you tempt them with treats, they will do tricks!

Jordan, Glendora Children's Photographer http://tirajphotography.com/?postID=289&Jordan-Glendora-Childrens-Photographer http://tirajphotography.com/?postID=289&Jordan-Glendora-Childrens-Photographer Thu, 25 Feb 2010 23:24:00 GMT
Sometimes, we aren't quite sure why God deals us certain cards in life. When the Quadruplets were born, Phil and Amy thought they had been dealt life's final deck of cards. They accepted the lifelong journey of raising premature quadruplets and all of the little struggles that come along with their little lives. Fast forward two and a half years later. Life is great! They were finally on a schedule, they could get out of the house, able to take trips as a family and move on. And then one day in December, God decided that one more card needed to be dealt. That card was Leukemia. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Mr. Jordan was sick for a while and there weren't any answers as to why he couldn't recover from the common cold or cough. Until one day, a doctor finally did a blood panel and that is when he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. If you have been following my blog, twitter updates and facebook status' you would know that I have been praying diligently for this little guy and have also asked you all to pray. When I was at their home last week, I asked Phil what is the one thing we can pray for. He said, "when Jordan is healed, it won't be a miracle. A miracle is when God makes the impossible possible. It's now possible for Jordan to be healed because of so many kids who died before him, so many parents who suffered, so many people who donated, so many organizations that raised money to find a cure, so many doctors who devoted their lives to researching, all under the umbrella of God's grace. Grace is the key word. We needs God's grace to get through this".

There will be more of the quads over the next few days. Here is a great image of them helping Jordan out with is Picc line that needs to be flushed daily. It was so amazing to see how these kiddos understand how they can help their brother and try their hardest to comprehend Leukemia.

Love this little guy and his dimples!

God Bless You Amy! You are the Mom of the decade!!

One of my favorites! He is such a happy little boy and there are times, you would never know he is fighting the fight of his life!

He and his siblings love the "choo choo's".

And Phil, you are the Dad of the decade! Seriously, I don't think God could have picked two better people to raise these four amazing kiddos!

Please continue to pray for Jordan, as well as Jonah, Jeremiah, Cedar, Amy and Phil. You can receive updates on Jordan by joining the facebook group HERE.

Whip It Up Wednesday: The Perfect Steak http://tirajphotography.com/?postID=282&Whip-It-Up-Wednesday-The-Perfect-Steak http://tirajphotography.com/?postID=282&Whip-It-Up-Wednesday-The-Perfect-Steak Wed, 24 Feb 2010 07:13:00 GMT Omaha Steaks from my Aunt & Uncle in Nebraska. If some of our vegetarian or vegan friends are reading this, so ahead and scroll down to the next post. I still love you even though you "you don't eat meat? I make lamb!" Ha!

Many of you reading this have been to our home and have had the opportunity to have one of these awesome steaks, grilled to perfection. We love to eat at home and BBQ whenever we can. We normally make red potatoes with our steak. Yum!

Lots of people think a steak rub or special season salt will make the steak better. We have news for you! We only use Kosher salt and ground pepper. The steak is then grilled to a nice 135 degrees. Remove from the fire and let it rest for five minutes which will let the meat's internal temperature go to 140 degrees which is medium rare. Make sure you invest in a great meat thermometer for the best results.
